BOTH/AND provides more than a website build. The annual service keeps your parish website hosted, maintained, supported, and ready to serve visitors after it launches.
This page explains what is included, what we will need from your parish, and which requests may require a separate price or another provider.
Price and Payment
The setup fee is $75. Before requesting it, we review your New Parish Website Request and your current public website if you have one. We will let you know about any visible migration concerns before asking you to pay.
The ongoing website service costs $500 per year. You pay online after approving the completed website and before we connect it to the parish’s live domain.
The annual payment begins your service term and renews automatically each year. We will send or schedule a reminder approximately 30 days before the renewal date.
You may cancel before the next renewal through the online billing system or by contacting BOTH/AND. Canceling prevents the next payment, but it does not shorten or refund the service term you have already purchased.
If a renewal payment fails, you will have 14 calendar days to correct it before the website service may be suspended.
A completed annual payment is normally nonrefundable because the new year of hosting and maintenance has begun. We will correct duplicate charges or billing errors and may approve another written exception when appropriate.
Some migration concerns cannot be confirmed until the project begins and we have the access we need. If we discover an unexpected required migration fee after you pay the setup fee, we will explain the options before doing the work. If the project cannot reasonably continue without that additional work and the parish does not want to approve it, BOTH/AND will refund the setup fee. The setup fee is not refundable simply because the parish changes its mind or adds new requirements after accepting the disclosed service.
What the Website Build Includes
The standard build includes:
- A managed Orthodox parish website hosted by BOTH/AND.
- Your choice of an available website design, color palette, and typography combination.
- A visitor-centered homepage that makes service times, location, welcome information, and appropriate next steps easy to find.
- A clearly identified Parish Portal that keeps parishioner resources one click away without allowing them to control the visitor-focused homepage.
- The standard parish pages and paths agreed upon during the project.
- The website features selected for your parish, which may include sermons, articles, events, photographs, forms, and a calendar.
- Google Analytics and Search Console connected through Google Site Kit when the parish chooses to use them.
- A general Contact form.
- Four visitor-engagement forms: Plan a Visit, Ask the Priest, Prayer Request, and Let’s Get Coffee/Meet Up. If one of these forms is not appropriate for the parish, we will discuss and record the exception.
- A review of your current website and a migration plan showing what we recommend moving, combining, replacing, leaving behind, or handling separately.
- Reasonable revisions needed to apply the agreed design and make the submitted parish information accurate.
- Testing of the website’s desktop and mobile presentation, links, forms, accessibility basics, and launch readiness.
- Launch on the approved parish domain after written approval and payment.
- The approved initial website-user accounts.
- A basic handoff and guidance for using the website.
What the Annual Service Includes
The annual service includes:
- Hosting the website on BOTH/AND’s managed servers. The website cannot be moved to parish-selected hosting while remaining in the managed service.
- Daily hosting backups.
- Hosting-level security monitoring.
- Updates to the standard website software.
- A response to support requests by the end of the next two business days. This means we will acknowledge the request and begin evaluating it; the completion time depends on what is needed.
- Small routine changes to existing website content and settings, such as correcting text, changing homepage content, replacing an existing homepage photograph, or adding or removing an approved user.
- A standard privacy-policy foundation adjusted to match the forms, analytics, embeds, and outside services used on the parish website.
Small changes follow a reasonable-use standard rather than a strict time or request limit. They are limited changes to existing content and settings.
New pages, new sections requiring design decisions, substantial rewriting, bulk content entry, repeated weekly updates, new features, integrations, redesigns, and complex troubleshooting are separate project work. If a request falls outside the annual service, we will explain that before beginning billable work.
For this service, business days are Monday through Friday, excluding observed United States holidays.
Moving Content from Your Current Website
A reasonable amount of compatible content migration is included. We will review the current website and send you a plan showing what we recommend moving, combining, updating, leaving behind, preserving elsewhere, or handling as additional work. We will not begin the migration until you have reviewed the plan.
If the current website contains a large amount of material, cannot be accessed properly, or requires extensive manual rebuilding or rewriting, we will explain the available options. The parish may:
- Reduce what is moved.
- Help prepare or enter specific content.
- Preserve selected material outside the new website.
- Approve an additional fixed fee for the extra work.
Your current website remains in place while we build the new one. Before launch, we make a final comparison so that recently added sermons, articles, events, or other updates are not accidentally left behind.
The parish remains responsible for the accuracy of its information, permission to publish its materials, and supplying anything that is missing or needs correction. BOTH/AND is responsible for carrying out the migration plan we agreed upon.
What Is Not Included
Parish Email
We connect website forms to the email addresses supplied by the parish and recommend Google Workspace for parish email. We do not create, migrate, or administer parish mailboxes. The parish or its chosen email provider remains responsible for email accounts, old messages, contacts, calendars, passwords, devices, and general email support.
Writing, Photography, and Media Production
The parish supplies accurate information and confirms that it has permission to publish its photographs, recordings, documents, and other materials. We may edit supplied text for clarity and web presentation, but we will not invent facts about the parish.
Professional photography, videography, logo or brand-identity work, extensive original writing, sermon transcription or production, copyright research, and ongoing weekly content entry are not included.
To keep the website reliable, affordable, and manageable, WordPress is not used as the parish’s permanent document or media library. Selected photographs used on website pages may be uploaded directly. Larger galleries, PDF and other document files, audio, and video must remain on an approved parish-controlled outside service and be linked or embedded on the website. The parish maintains those outside accounts, their sharing settings, and its original files.
Learn why parish media should live beyond the parish website.
Additional Features and Outside Services
E-commerce, ticketing, member systems, learning systems, mobile applications, complex integrations, and work on unrelated websites, accounts, servers, or equipment are outside the standard service.
Paid software, stock media, domain registration, advertising, and other third-party subscriptions are also not included unless we agree otherwise in writing.
If the parish needs something outside the standard service, we will explain whether BOTH/AND can add it, whether it requires a separate price, or whether another provider would be more appropriate.
Results and Legal Responsibility
We follow sound website practices, but we cannot guarantee a particular search ranking, number of visitors or inquiries, membership or donation result, continuous availability of outside services, or legal compliance.
BOTH/AND supplies a standard privacy policy covering the normal Google and website services used on the site. The parish reviews and approves the factual details and remains responsible for identifying an unusual ministry practice, jurisdictional requirement, or use of personal information that may need additional review. The policy is not legal advice or a guarantee for every jurisdiction.
Changes During the Build
The standard build includes reasonable revisions based on feedback gathered and sent by the primary parish contact. There is no fixed number of revision rounds.
We will continue to correct factual errors, launch blockers, and failures to use the approved content or design choices. New pages, reversed decisions, additional preference rounds, new features, or major changes after approval may affect the schedule and require a separate price.
What We Need from Your Parish
Your parish is responsible for:
- Naming one primary contact who gathers information and sends the parish’s combined feedback and approvals.
- Providing accurate names, service times, addresses, biographies, form recipients, and other parish information.
- Supplying photographs and other materials the parish has permission to publish.
- Using the private upload folder for organized project materials, keeping its own original files, and never placing passwords or sensitive records in the folder.
- Supplying or approving parish-specific information about parking, arrival, accessibility, visitors, catechumens, children and families, fellowship, clergy, and other local practices.
- Identifying the people authorized to approve the website, control the domain, and receive invoices.
- Maintaining control of its domain, email, analytics, calendar, social-media, and other outside accounts.
- Responding to questions and review requests so the project can keep moving.
- Reviewing the migration plan and supplying corrections or missing material.
- Keeping calendars, service times, clergy information, and other changing content current after launch.
- Protecting its website accounts and telling BOTH/AND when an important contact, domain, email route, or parish leader changes.
The usual two-to-four-week timeline depends on receiving the information, access, decisions, feedback, approval, and payment needed to continue the work.
If the Parish Does Not Renew
Hosting, maintenance, updates, support, backups, monitoring, and included content changes end when the paid annual term ends.
If the parish does not renew, BOTH/AND will prepare a complete site-level transfer package. It includes the website database and files, parish uploads, transferable website software files, and a standard content export. It does not include server-wide configuration, licenses that cannot be transferred, passwords or other secrets, or information belonging to another client.
Normal website service continues through the end of the paid term. For the following 30 calendar days, we will keep a recoverable hosted copy when technically practical and answer reasonable questions from the parish’s replacement provider about the transfer package.
This 30-day period is intended to help with the transition. It is not an additional month of guaranteed public hosting, routine maintenance, content changes, redesign, development, or compatibility work.
After 30 days, BOTH/AND may remove the website and its account-level data from our servers. The parish or its new provider should download and preserve the transfer package promptly. We cannot guarantee that the website will work without changes on another provider’s hosting.
