Current stage: Information & Content
Every parish website needs at least one designated Site Manager. This person will have full website access and will serve as the parish’s primary person for coordinating website updates.
Choose someone the parish trusts, who uses a monitored personal or parish email address, and who is likely to remain involved. Most parishes should begin with one Site Manager. A second Site Manager may be appropriate when the parish needs another trusted person to preserve access and continuity.
Keep Additional Access Limited
After naming the required Site Manager, add only the other people who genuinely need to sign in and edit the website themselves. In many parishes, ministry leaders send their changes to the Site Manager instead of receiving separate accounts.
This protects the website and helps keep its writing, colors, fonts, photographs, and layout consistent. A stewardship chair, choir director, or other ministry leader does not automatically need a website account simply because the website includes that ministry.
Choose the Narrowest User Role
For each additional user, select the role that provides only the access needed for that person’s work.
- Site Manager — full control of the website. Additional Site Managers should be rare.
- Content Manager — broad access to update website content without full technical control. Keep this role limited.
- Pages Manager — access to update the parish’s ordinary website pages.
- Individual Page Manager — access only to the specific pages listed in the form, such as Stewardship or Choir.
- Articles Manager — articles and parish news only.
- Sermons Manager — sermons only.
- Events Manager — featured website Event pages only. This does not manage the parish’s external calendar.
- Photos Manager — individual Photo entries only.
Each approved user receives an individual account and sets a private password through the website’s secure account process. Users should never share accounts or passwords. The parish is responsible for telling BOTH/AND when a user should be added, changed, or removed.
What Happens Next?
We will confirm the designated Site Manager, review any additional roles, and create the approved individual accounts during launch.
