How well does your parish website work, welcome, connect, and share?
The Orthodox Website Evaluation is a free public resource for Orthodox parishes. It looks at how well a parish website provides the essentials, welcomes someone who may be unfamiliar with the parish or Orthodox Christianity, and offers meaningful ways to take a next step.
This is not an award, endorsement, or list of the best Orthodox parishes. It is a practical review of what a visitor could find and use on the public website on a particular date. Whether your parish works with BOTH/AND or another website provider, we hope it helps you recognize what is already serving people well and decide what to improve next.
Four questions for every Orthodox parish website
Works
Can people use the website easily and find the essential information they need?
Works looks at clarity, mobile use, speed, accessibility, service times, contact information, location, secure access, discoverability by parish name, focused navigation, and current content.
Welcomes
Can someone who does not already know the parish understand where they are and feel prepared to visit?
Welcomes looks at the opening message, visitor information, authentic photographs, understandable next steps, opportunities to learn, and whether parishioner resources support rather than overwhelm the public welcome.
Connects
Can a visitor move from reading information toward a real relationship with the parish?
Connects looks for clear ways to plan a visit, ask about the Orthodox faith, request prayer, arrange to meet someone from the parish, and encounter trustworthy Orthodox teaching on the homepage.
Shares
Does the website lead people to the parish's official public channels beyond the website?
Shares is a bonus category. It checks direct, working links to official parish-owned public channels. Social media can extend the parish's public witness, but it does not replace a clear and dependable parish website.
What the score can tell you
A score is a starting point, not the whole story. It can reveal missing essentials, unnecessary barriers, and opportunities for deeper hospitality. It cannot measure the spiritual health of a parish, the quality of its worship, or the faithfulness of its people.
Each evaluation is a dated snapshot. Websites change, links break, service schedules move, and new content is published. Always consider the review date when reading a result.
