A Website for the People You Haven’t Met Yet
Your parish website is more than a place for announcements and parishioner information. It is often the first doorway into parish life for someone searching for Christ, exploring Orthodox Christianity, or wondering whether they would be welcome.
BOTH/AND designs the website around that visitor—helping people in your community discover the parish, understand what to expect, connect with a real person, and take a meaningful step toward Christ through the life of the Church.
Parishioner resources remain easy to find, but they do not determine the primary focus of the homepage and navigation.
Is This Approach Right for Your Parish?
Your parish understands its own needs. If it needs a website designed primarily around announcements, ministries, internal resources, and the day-to-day needs of existing parishioners, BOTH/AND is not the right website provider. Our designs are not intended to create a parishioner-first website.
BOTH/AND may be the right choice when your parish wants to:
- Reach people in the surrounding community.
- Welcome those who are unfamiliar with Orthodox Christianity.
- Make service times, location, parking, and first-visit information easy to understand.
- Help visitors know what to expect before attending.
- Give visitors clear ways to plan a visit, ask the priest a question, request prayer, or meet someone from the parish.
- Keep parishioner resources accessible without allowing them to control the visitor’s experience.
How Do We Get Started?
1. Tell Us About Your Parish
Start with the short New Parish Website Request. It asks for some basic information about you, your parish, your current website if you have one, and what you hope a new website will accomplish.
You do not need to choose a design or gather all of your photographs and content before contacting us.
2. We Review What You Need
We will review your inquiry and look through your current public website if you have one. We will also let you know if we see anything that may make moving your existing content more complicated.
Most questions can be handled by email. If it would be easier to talk through something together, we can arrange a telephone or video call.
If this approach seems right for your parish, we will send you a short Service Expectations Confirmation. It explains the service, what we will need from you, and the important boundaries you should understand before paying anything.
3. Reserve Your Place
Once the expectations are clear and we agree to move forward, we will send you the $75 setup-fee request.
Paying the setup fee reserves your parish’s place in the project queue and allows us to begin gathering the information for your website.
4. Begin the Project
We will send you the Basic Information form, a guide to help you prepare photographs and content, and a private folder where you can upload what we need.
We begin with Basic Information because it gives us enough to create the temporary website. We will send the remaining forms after that website is ready, so you do not have to complete everything at once.
What Happens Once We Begin?
After the setup fee is paid, the process looks like this:
- You complete the Basic Information form and begin gathering the photographs and content we will need.
- We create the temporary website and send you its address. Once you can see the website taking shape, we send the remaining forms.
- If you have an existing website, we review its content and send you a migration plan. This shows what we recommend moving, combining, replacing, leaving behind, or handling separately. We will not begin the migration until you have reviewed the plan.
- We build the website, add the approved content, and test it on phones and computers before asking you to review it.
- Your primary contact gathers the parish’s feedback and sends it to us together. There is no fixed review deadline, but the website will take longer to finish if we are waiting for information, decisions, or feedback.
- We make the reasonable revisions needed to complete the website. Once the parish approves it, we send the $500 annual-service payment request.
- After the annual payment is complete, we connect the parish’s domain, verify the live website and its forms, create the approved user accounts, and show you what happens next.
What Does the Ongoing Service Cost?
The website service costs $500 per year. You pay online after approving the completed website and before we connect it to the parish’s live domain.
The annual payment begins your service term and renews automatically each year. We will send or schedule a reminder before the renewal date, and you can cancel before the next payment if the parish decides not to continue.
The annual service includes:
- Hosting the website on BOTH/AND’s managed servers.
- Daily backups and security monitoring.
- Updates to the standard website software.
- A response to support requests by the end of the next two business days.
- Small routine changes to existing website content and settings.
The website must remain on BOTH/AND’s servers while it is part of this managed service. If the parish decides not to renew, we provide a website transfer package and a limited transition period.
See the Website Service Details.
What Happens to Your Current Website?
If your parish already has a website, we will look through its public content before requesting the setup fee. This allows us to identify any obvious concerns and give you an early idea of what may be involved.
After the project begins and we have the access we need, we will prepare a more detailed migration plan. The plan will show what we recommend:
- Moving to the new website.
- Combining or reorganizing.
- Replacing with updated information.
- Leaving behind.
- Preserving somewhere outside the website.
- Handling as additional work.
A reasonable amount of compatible content migration is included. If the current website contains a large amount of material, cannot be accessed properly, or requires extensive manual rebuilding, we will explain the options before doing that work. The parish can reduce what is moved, help prepare the content, preserve some material elsewhere, or approve an additional fixed fee.
Your current website remains in place while we build the new one. Before launch, we make a final comparison so that recent sermons, articles, events, or other updates are not accidentally left behind.
How Long Will It Take?
Most parish websites can be completed in approximately two to four weeks once we have the Basic Information needed to begin and the project reaches its place in the working schedule.
The timeline depends on both of us. We will keep the website moving forward whenever we have what we need. If we are waiting for photographs, content, account access, answers, decisions, feedback, approval, or payment, the expected completion date will move accordingly.
If we are waiting for something from you, we may continue with another scheduled project in the meantime. Once the missing information arrives, we will let you know when work on your website can resume.
Ready to Begin?
Start with the short New Parish Website Request. It will give us enough information to understand what your parish needs and whether this visitor-centered approach is right for you.
You do not need to choose a design or gather all of your photographs and content before reaching out.
